Summer League Update

Summer League is now 4 weeks in and with 2 men’s teams and 4 ladies it’s been very busy.

The Men’s 1st team have had a fairly difficult season and a hard group. They are currently sitting in second last in their section. Their last match on Friday 10th is at Deerpark and will be crucial.

The Men’s second team have 3 wins and are sitting narrowly on top of a very close group. With the top 4 teams separated by only one point and all 4 teams playing each other on the last day, the whole section is still up for grabs.

The Ladies first team have clawed their way back after a difficult start. Two close wins in their last 2 matches have seen them move up to 4th in their section after losing their first two matches. Their final match is at home on Wednesday June 8th against Charleville 1.

The Ladies 2nd team in Class 5 have moved up to 2nd in their section with 3 wins from 4. Their final match is at home on Tuesday June 7th. Their opponents Donnybrook 4, currently top the section. Every point will be crucial in this one. Winning the section is still possible but every point scored may be needed to secure second and see them through to the playoffs.

The 3rd team had a good win on Tuesday night in Class 5, scoring 4 points and moving up to 4th in their section. Their final match is away at Sutton LTC 6.

This season also saw the introduction of a new 4th team for the Ladies and it’s great to see more teams involved in the league. The 4th team are having a difficult time in Class 7. They have no points scored as yet but a few close, 3 set encounters and plenty of experience gained. Their final match of the season is away at Clontarf.
