With the final week of Winter League coming up, it looks like 4 of our 7 teams are still in with some chance of making the playoffs.
The Men’s 1st team need 1 point to be certain of topping their group. On the other hand, a 3-0 loss will almost certainly mean they will finish outside the top 2 and miss out on the playoffs.
The Ladies 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams (in classes 3, 4 and 6) are all lying 3rd in their groups going into the last week. All three have a chance to make it into the playoffs. In each case they need good results and probably a little help with other matches going their way. (I think the 3rd team can guarantee a playoff spot with a 3-0 win).
With all teams comfortably clear of the relegation battle, that’s a pretty strong position for the end of week 4. Good luck to everyone playing this week.
John Clerkin and Mike Purcell are tied at the top for King of the Leagues. The Ladies have a 5 way tie between Susan MacMahon, Carmel Martin, Liz Neilan, Alena Thiesmeyer and Brenda Gallen.
